Farms to Neighbors

The Farms to Neighbors program is based on two simple truths: everyone should have access to high quality, locally produced food and farmers deserve to be paid full price for the fruits of their labor. When it comes to food access, these two truths are often at odds. However, with the support of generous community members, we can achieve both! Farms to Neighbors donations translate directly into food purchases from participating local farmers, and the food purchased goes directly to community members that need it most. The Cove food bank is our partner for the program, and we rely on them to distribute the fresh food we purchase to local families. Food is provided by Red Shed, Double Tree Dairy, Willow Brook, Refugia Farm, Seven Stars, Bluebird Grain Farms, Channing Farms, and BCS Livestock. To learn more about these farms, visit our farm directory.

This program was started during the pandemic when families were in need of help and the fate of regular sales channels for farmers was drawn into question. Though regular markets have long since returned, the need for the program persists. The Cove continues to see high demand, and we’re grateful to the donors that make it possible to continue serving both farmers and eaters via Farms to Neighbors.
